Virginia Apples

Apple picking is one of my favorite Fall activities. We spent a beautiful day in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Fun was had by all and a delicious apple pie was made that evening.

Ten Years

Vintage Black and Plaid

First day of Fall wearing my favorite black shirtwaist vintage dress and ankle boots. I love September for so many reasons. The leaves are just beginning to change and the air is crisper in the morning. Perfect time of year to live on the East Coast.

End of Summer Clams

We bid farewell to summer with a dinner of clams in white wine and butter and fried green tomatoes. Delicious!

Favorite Vintage Dress

I have a favorite of my vintage dresses and of course it is black. This dress once belonged to my best friend about 18 years ago. This dress is perfect. It has a pencil skirt and tank straps, zips up the back and has a small bow on the bodice. The dress is probably from the sixties, but it is hard to tell. The fabric is old and the seams are now weak. I hope it lasts for a few more years.

Bernice Bobs Her Hair

A new haircut that I am still getting used to. Thankfully, I can still put it up in a twist with a scarf for really hot days like the ones we have had lately.

Goodwill Hunting

I have been searching for one of these round American Tourister cases for such a long time. I really wanted red, but would have settled for another color. While dropping off some items to Goodwill, I saw this perfect case in a pile on the sidewalk! Definitely my best Goodwill find ever. And it only cost me 4 bucks!
