See and Sew
With summer vacation starting next week, my older daughter will need lots of activities to keep her busy. Look and Cook, See and Sew and Sow and Grow are full of ideas for those long summer days. These three books by Tina Davis have great projects for the beginning seamstress, gardener and chef. The easy to follow instructions and step by step pictures show little hands how to accomplish their first grilled cheese sandwich or how to make a sock doll. There are even gardening projects like pressing flowers and making a terrarium. I love the vintage pictures and detailed instructions. We made the frog pin cushion together and assembled a sewing basket for all of her sewing supplies.

Style Inspiration: The Like
Their music is great. I love the 60's girl group influence, but it is their 1960's style that is my favorite thing about this band. They just look so cool. Lead singer Z Berg is Twiggy but better. She makes me want to cut my hair, load on the eye make-up and wear little girl vintage dresses.
